Vector Control
Bio:

Colombian/French, PhD Medical entomologist. Roger (1976), obtained his PhD on Biology health, Veterinary and Medical Entomology at the University of Montpellier, France (2014). His PhD focused on the development of vector control methods against Culicoides biting midges, vectors of a wide range of emerging livestock viruses, to propose standardized procedures and reference values as baseline for midge control. He adapted mosquito based control procedures to be used with smaller insects and thus able to test the efficiency of different control techniques (insecticides, repellents, impregnated nets and painting) against Culicoides. Working closely with farmers, industry and research centers from Europe and Africa in the framework of the FP7 EDENext project, his work provided new tools to optimize the integrated pest control strategies against Culicoides. Roger joined Avia-GIS in 2016 as vector control specialist at the Precision Pest Management Business Unit where he provides technical and scientific support to the Avia-GIS vector control products and services.
