Avia-GIS was in charge of developing guidelines for monitoring native and invasive mosquito species in Europe. In addition, Avia-GIS provided 11 factsheets as a basis for a program for the surveillance of exotic morsquitoes in Belgium.

Avia-GIS was in charge of eradicating Aedes japonicus from the Natoye area where it was established since 2004. Preliminary studies in 2012 showed limited spread within a range of 2km from the introduction point in a spare tire import company.
